Born in Chania, Crete, Greece.
Manos was born in Chania, Crete, Greece in 1963. He is former Major General, Director of the Cyber Crime Division of the Hellenic Police.
He graduated from the Programming and Analysis School of the University of Athens. A year later he joined the Officers’ School of the Hellenic Police. During his police career, Manos followed various seminars and post-graduate education related to criminal law, cyber-crime and cyber terrorism, including credit card fraud prevention (London, UK) and serious organized crime tackling (FBI, US).
Thanks to his effectiveness in preventing cybercrime activities he has earned the moniker “Hercules Poirot of the cyberspace” by the Greek press. During his tenure of the Cyber Crime Division, Hellenic Police set up the “Cyber-Kid” website, which is used exclusively in order to inform on and protect children from any possible cyber threats while he managed over 10,000 cybercrime cases. He has participated as speaker to over 800 national and international events concerning cybercrime and cybersecurity while he has published 3 books in Greece concerning internet and its safe use.
Manos was awarded for his efforts and initiatives during his police career from the Academy of Athens, the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), the Hellenic Ministry of Education, the Hellenic Kidney Diseases Organization and several other organizations. He is currently President & CEO of “Greek Information Security Systems Ltd” and Founding Member of the “Cyber Security International Institute (CSI)”.
